Haruko Chikada (近田(ちかだ) 春子(はるこ), Haruko Chikada) is one of the students from Class 3-2 during the second season of the anime. She is a member of the school's jazz club.

Character

Haruko has a kind personality, being very helpful and openhearted. She is able to sense the mood of the group extremely well and gets along with teachers too. However, she is actually quite shy in some respects. Haruko cuts her own hair.

Appearance

Haruko has short, brown hair which appears a bit scrubby since she cuts it herself. She has the most tomboyish look of the girls of her class. Her eyes are green coloured.

As a Sakuragaoka High School student, she is usually seen wearing the school's uniform with white socks and a long skirt. Her blazer is usually unbuttoned and she also wears the summer waistcoat too most of the time.

Etymology

• The name Haruko means "spring" (春) (haru) and "child" (子) (ko).
• Haruko's surname Chikada means "near, early, akin, tantamount" (近) (chika) and "field, rice paddy" (田) (ta/da).
