The Hikarigaoka Girl's High School (光が丘女子高等学校 Hikarigaoka joshikō-tō gakkō), is a fictional Japanese high school and the main setting of the spin-off series K-ON! Shuffle.

About[]

Like other high schools in Japan, the Hikarigaoka Girl's High School is divided into three year groups of students and represents the last stage of Japan's education via public schools. The students are taught in several complex subjects to be able to attend the country's universities afterwards.

Structure and Organization[]

Just like Sakura High, Hikarigaoka High School is also an all-girl school. However, they do not have as many students with the Japanese declining birth rate being one explaination used by a teacher

School Emblem

Hikarigaoka's winter school uniform consists of a long sleeved cream sailor uniform with a navy blue collar & school emblem (on the breast pocket), equal or below knee navy blue skirt, black or white stockings or socks and maroon shoes.

The summer uniform is the same but has shorter sleeves. Unlike Sakura High, Hikarigaoka doesn't have some part of the uniform to identify which year a student is in. The school uniform policies are strict in some areas like requiring long skirts, however they do allow for simple make up, nail polish and cardigans.

The student handbook is outdated, which caused some misunderstandings with the Light Music Club. Currently the one known outdated section is about students not being able to join two clubs at the same time, unless one is an appreciation society. This is no longer valid as explained by one of the teachers due to the Japanese falling birthrate causing a decline of students at school, so the school recommends students to join multiple clubs.
