Karin Shimada (島田(しまだ) 花凛(かりん), Karin Shimada) is one of the characters of the K-ON! Shuffle manga. She is a member of the Basketball Club together with her old schoolfriend Maho Sawabe, with whom she shared meals since elementary school.

Character

Karin is playful and easygoing. She does care for her friends like after noticing Maho was stressed, she helped her to relax. She isn't very good at basketball with Yukari able to beat her twice already after Maho mentioned about her bad habits.

Appearance

She has slightly dark skin, short black hair and grey eyes along with a fang usually showing. She wears the standard school uniform

Etymology

• The name Karin means "flower, blossom" (花) (ka) and "dignified, severe, cold" (凛) (rin).
• Karin's surname Shimada means "island" (島) (shima) and "field, rice paddy" (田) (ta/da).
  • Her surname (Shimada) is taken from the Japanese solo project pop band Skirt band member Shimadaboy (シマダボーイ).
