Although most instances of the long "o" have been standardized (ō, ou, oo), there are more than a few songs that are written by Shouko Ohmori, as referenced here. "oh" is common in transcribing names, but is nonstandard. One article that does not use "oh" is this one (there may be others). I don't know if the official english transliteration of the album credits uses "Ohmori", but if not it should replaced by "ō" or similar.
Also, from Wikipedia: Hepburn romanization#Loanwords says that macrons are used for all five vowels when transcribing loanwords. This should include "Giita/Gīta".
I never really asked since I didn't need admin priveleges to do most of the stuff I was doing around the wiki. I don't even know what I'd do with admin, except for maybe clean up the front page or do the news bits every once in a while. But I'd appreciate it nonetheless :)
I do like the original soruce image, but something went horribly wrong when it was ported to the background. Here's what I see , with a display at 1980x1050. I personally didn't mind the old BG style where the one picture was tiled across the page. I do have an idea though - a background that only shows up on the far sides of the page, like on the Index wiki , but that'd depend on finding a suitable image.
The top nav can be edited here but for some reason it said "Level 2 menu is to wide" when I tried to remove the "Live!" link. This makes no sense, since the max items for Level 2 is 7 but there are currently only 5 (see here for more info).
EDIT: This appears to have been a technical glitch relating to browser size, will contact Wikia.
Getting back to the manga chapters/volumes, we either have to remove one of the level 1 tabs (On The Wiki, Community, Top Content, Characters, Episodes) or merge it with another somehow to be able to fit in all the manga.
Like Vimitsu said earlier, I think the Community tab has become redundant. 'Current Events' and 'Portal' can be merged into 'On the Wiki' since i doubt we need either the 'Forum' or 'Manual of Style' on the Community tab. I'd suggest 'Music' to replace it, since it's the next most important thing that right now can only be accessed by searching, or on the main page. Possible sub tabs would be much like the current music page: Opening & Ending Themes, Ho-kago Tea Time (Which would include everything on their II studio/cassette album), Character Image Songs Season 1, Character Image Songs Season 2, and perhaps Other (which could include stuff from Death Devil, the Official Yarouyo, the OST, and perhaps a link to instrumentals. Not sure where to put B-sides though.
I think my intent with this setup would be to make sure that the songs that everyone would be after (Fuwa Fuwa Time etc) are the most easily accessible.
It could look a little bit like this. The drop down I suggest here for HTT should take into account the most popular songs, and insert songs first to save space since you said the max is 10. Edit: Now in a nice table
I implemented Stezie95's plan. The following modifications to the plan were made:
Changed "Openings and Endings" to "Theme Songs" and added "Unmei♪wa♪Endless!"
Changed "Ho-kago Tea Time's Songs" to "Insert Songs"
Songs were reordered in chronological order (of release)
The "Official Band Yarouyo!" was removed because there was no category for them all, and there were too many
Added some other links here and there.
Also, the reason for my technical issues was apparently a glitch in the system; when the browser window is small enough, the editor program assumes that there is not enough space and returns "Level 2 Menu is too wide". This explains why I was unable to publish when I removed something. I will soon report this to Wikia. Edit: Glitch has reported, and Wikia says they are aware of it.
That looks great! I agree with all of those changes except for the insert songs. Of course, insert songs are important in themselves, but my intent in calling that menu HTT's songs would be to give access the deeper cuts on the Ho-kago Tea Time II album, since most of these aren't strictly insert songs. In any case, I'm not entirely sure how I'd make space for a link to that album in particular while keeping the Insert Songs menu in tact.
Apart from that, the two Image Song sections made sense in theory, but now that it's up, the difference is barely noticeable. We all know the difference being the ! or !! and that the second has Jun, but maybe this would look arbitrary others? Perhaps have them merged, with the links going to another page to select between either season 1 or 2?
Edit: And while you're at it, there were still valid suggestions made earlier regarding merging the "Community" tab with the "On the Wiki" tab by moving the 'Current Events' and 'Portal' from "Community" to "On the Wiki" to make space for "Manga" to be the 5th Level 1 menu.
Changed "Insert Songs" to "HTT songs" (w/o category)
Removed category from "more"
EDIT: Some more edits made:
Changed all instances of season numbers to K-ON! and K-ON!! (this may be temporary)
Removed "Sakuragaoka Joshi Koutou Gakkou Kouka (Rock Ver.)" from B-sides because its name is too long (going off the page if the browser window is small enough) and I cannot think of a way to shorten it.
I still cannot specify the Character Image Song seasons because writing "Season 1 Image Songs" simply takes up too much space.
Also, I think there should be a B-sides category, now that there is a menu for it. Edit: Now done and B-sides category link has been added to the menu.
Two small things, Curry actually first played before Hotchkiss, so it should be the second song on the HTT list, and Tsubasa would look better at the top, instead of in the middle of the OP/ED songs.
I think, just for the menu bar, we should shorten the school anthem to "Sakuragaoka Kouka (Rock Ver.)", which is "Cherry Blossom Hill School Anthem (Rock Ver.)". This lets us not exclude one song for an unfortunate technical reason, and as soon as someone clicks on it, they go to the page that has the full name anyway. It should go where Tsubasa is now, before the season 2 songs.
Sakura/gaoka / Joshi / Koutou / Gakkou / Kouka is literally Cherry Blossom/Hill / Girls' / High / School / School Anthem.
I think it would look better if Tsubasa and the anthem appeared before that OP/ED of that season, since they both appear in the first episode, and so they also split the season 1/2 OP/EDs. Meaning, Tsubasa Wo Kudasai, Happy!? Sorry!!, Sweet Bitter Beauty Song, Sakuragaoka Kouka (Rock Ver.), Genius...!?, etc.
Curry Nochi Rice was being played when Azusa first entered the auditorium, but we only got to hear Mugi's keyboard solo at the end. After that it appeared in season 2 in the episode where they repeatedly tried to play it at different places around the school, and it finally appeared in full in the movie.
