Mifuyu Matsumoto (
Character[]
Mifuyu is considered to be the older sister of the class and is a level-headed and reliable, but also delicate girl. Her hobby is handicrafts and she is a good friend of Chika Nojima. She wants to take foreign studies in China after graduating from high school.[1] Mifuyu is good in cheering people on and also appears to be a perfectionist, as she wanted to make the last scene of the class' act as good as possible even when missing the key requisite, going as far as refusing alternatives that might not fit completely, like a tombstone that was written in Japanese.[2]
Appearance[]
Mifuyu has very long, black hair which is combed aside, showing her forehead. She has very long, thin eyebrows and dark blue eyes which almost appear violet. As a Sakuragaoka High School student, she is usually seen wearing the school's uniform properly with white socks.
Etymology[]
- The name Mifuyu means "beautiful" (美) (mi) and "winter" (冬) (fuyu).
- Mifuyu's surname Matsumoto means "pine tree, fir tree" (松) (matsu) and "base, root, origin, source" (本) (moto).
Trivia[]
- In the second chapter of Volume 4 of the manga, a member of Class 3-2 called Matsumoto (松本) was a candidate for the leading role of the class play "Romeo and Juliet". The anime adopted the name and invented the actual character, as Mifuyu can't be seen in the manga.
- While Mifuyu managed to get three votes in the manga, she only got two in the anime adaption.
