Nao Okuda (
Appearance and Personality[]
She has short, black hair and light purple eyes. She wears rimmed glasses, identical to those of Nodoka. Okuda is shown to be quite clumsy as seen when she accidentally broke one of the thickest strings on Azusa's guitar, hinting she might be quite strong. Okuda was first shown wearing a blank expression but later on she is seen giving a gentle smile. She is the eldest of five siblings, despite her "little sister" aura.
Plot[]
The "Last Resort" Club[]
Nao arrives at the Light Music Club room after her long search for a school club to join during her first year in Sakuragaoka High School. Previously, she did not pass for an athletic club due to her physical weakness, and was scouring all the other clubs and failing to get herself signed up on each and every one of them. Initially, Nao appears to be uninterested in joining the Light Music Club and was only there after she heard Azusa's horrendous singing during the Light Music Club's performance in the school's Welcome Assembly, but she later returned, saying that she "had the most success with [the] club's activities".
During the first days of the "reborn" Light Music Club, Nao is discovered to have little to no knowledge about playing instruments, so they try to teach her on how to play a guitar; however, Sumire gets to become close to the drums instead. Meanwhile, in order to gain more information, Nao decides to learn more about music theory.
Unfortunately, even learning how music works does not help her in learning how to play a guitar, and Nao in one point planned to leave the club because of her lack of progress. Sawako soon steps in and lends Nao her laptop. Here, Nao learns that she can make music by using a music synthesizer program, and this unofficially makes her the band's music producer.
As Member of Wakaba Girls[]
Unlike the other noted Light Music Club members in the history of Sakuragaoka High School, Nao is the only one who does not actively play a musical instrument. It's hinted that Okuda might know how to play the violin due to her holding Azusa's guitar like one, but this could also mean that she has no proper knowledge how to use a guitar. Despite this, she demonstrates considerable knowledge in music theory, and has talent in computer music production.
