Mio Akiyama

Mio and Sawako are rarely on the same page as a result of Sawako's obsession with putting Mio in different outfits. Though she eventually got used to Sawako's behavior, this is probably just because Azusa took some of the costume attention away from her. Because of their contentious start, Mio and Sawako get along the least well of the original members of the Light Music Club, but Mio will show respect for Sawako on occasions where she deserves it. |
Azusa Nakano

When they first met, Azusa thought of Sawako as being a "pretty" person. Sawako's laid-back and immature attitude, however, quickly forced Azusa to change her mind. Azusa tends to nag when Sawako shows her undependable nature, but she is surprised when the latter actually shows authority or is dependable. Despite Sawako being a teacher, the two have a friendly connection. Azusa is, like Mio, often the target of Sawako's dress up-rampages, a fact she greatly dislikes. When the original HTT members graduated and Azusa became the new club president, she often quarrels with Sawako but also sometimes asks for her help. |
Yui Hirasawa

Being an absolute beginner in music and playing guitar, Yui was trained by Sawako. Sawako's training was useful but in the process Yui ended up losing her voice and was unable to be on vocals at her first school festival. However they share a close student-teacher relationship, closer than most of the Light Music Club. |
Tsumugi Kotobuki

Of everyone in the Light Music Club, Sawako is probably the closest to Tsumugi. Sawako enjoys Tsumugi's treats and can be easily bribed into doing unreasonable things with them. Tsumugi thinks Sawako is pretty and is usually the first to go along with the teacher's weird costume wearing habits. When Yui gets involved, it becomes difficult for the remaining more reasonable members of the Light Music Club to avoid getting wrapped up in Sawako's machinations. |
Ritsu Tainaka

Ritsu often sees Ms. Yamanaka as a feckless teacher and is more than once left speechless when Sawako talkas about her personal life. Despite Sawako being a teacher and is therefore an authority, the two tend to address each other casually. Ritsu was the first to call her "Sawa-chan" and is the member of HTT who is the most bold toward her (forcing her to become the supervisor of the Light Music Club, calling her an "idiot" after she yelled at Azusa, dressing her down for getting a hangover the morning of a trip, or trying to swallow a receipt that she had to give to Sawako). When she breaks out her Death Devil persona, however, Sawako assumes complete control of Ritsu and usually forces her to comply with the teacher's demands. |
