Shizuka Kinoshita (木下(きのした)しずか, Shizuka Kinoshita) is one of the students from Class 3-2 during the second season of the anime.

Character

Shizuka does not have a way with words and she envies others because of that. She finds quiet comfort in seeing Tsumugi Kotobuki, who sits in front of her in class, always having a great time. She and Keiko Sano grew up together. She is friends with the Occult Club Members. Shizuka seems to be very forgetful when being under stress, as she completely forgot about her own role in the class act after remembering an alternative for the missing tombstone.

Appearance

Shizuka is a small girl with light brown hair that is worn in a bob cut. Her eyes are also light brown.

As a Sakuragaoka High School student, she is usually seen wearing the school's uniform properly with black socks. Under her blazer, she usually wears a darker version of the summer waistcoat too.

Etymology

• The name Shizuka is written in hiragana (しずか), which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji (静夏 or 静香), it could possibly mean:
  • 静夏 - "quiet" (静) (shizu) and "summer" (夏) (ka).
  • 静香 - "quiet" (静) (shizu) and "fragrance, fragrant" (香) (ka).
• Shizuka's surname Kinoshita means "tree, wood" (木) (ki) and "under, below" (下) (shita).
