Shuffle Volume 1, Chapter 6 is a chapter of the first Volume of the K-ON! Shuffle Manga by Kakifly.
Summary[]
While Riko is thinking about how Yukari, Kaede and Maho now have their instruments, Yukari nearly hits her with her drum sticks that slipped out of her hands. While Yukari is apologising, Maho mentions she can only bend her finger tip causing some difficulty in playing chords. Yukari and Kaede want to see it and get pushed away. Riko mentions that at the beginning it will take longer to play chords, but overtime she will be able to play some chords that others can't. This advice is going over Maho's head with Riko then saying "you just gotta give it your all!"
Kaede then mentions to Riko that her fingers can't spread far enough. Riko explains human fingers aren't made to play instrument and she will get better over time. This also goes over Kaede's head with Riko then giving more vague advice of "as long as the sound comes out, it's all good!" Riko then apologies saying she can't explain it well, with her then saying the most important thing is to fall in love with your instrument and both Kaede and Maho reply they can do that.
Yukari accidentally has her drum sticks slip out of her hands nearly hitting Maho with her then confronting her. Yukari then acts like she has played drums for a long time by saying Maho and Kaede still have that beginner feel about them when it's been less than 2 weeks since she started the drums. Yukari then apologies to Maho while at the same time asking Riko how to use drumsticks properly. Riko then asks Yukari to imitate a cat, which she puts her hands up to her head that Maho comments looks more like a rabbit. Kaede then does the correct position with cat paws before Riko comments on it being cute and Kaede tells her to do more. Riko then explains the movements are linked to using drumsticks with Yukari trying to imitate what Kaede is doing and Maho taking photos of Kaede still doing cat paws. Riko brings out some rope to explain it further by hitting the ground to show the strong and weak ripples. Yukari grabs some rope and tells Maho to go down on all 4s with her butt facing Yukari, but Maho questions her intentions and rejects.
Remembering what Riko said about spending more time with her drumsticks, Yukari hold them while going home with Maho embarrassed to be with her. Yukari tries remembering the right way to hold them before having them accidentally slip out of her hand again with a person out of the panel shouting who was that, Yukari apologising and Maho telling her to cut it out.
Kurumi comes home with her mother telling her to wash her mouth and hands. While in the bathroom she hears a noise to find Yukari in the bath still with her drumsticks, before questioning her and Yukari telling her to knock, While Kurumi is drying Yukari's hair, she then understands it was just for drum practice. She then says that Yukari takes things to the extreme with Yukari replying it's just her nature. Kurumi then tells her about shoulder tapping massages common with drumming. While tapping Kurumi's shoulders, she realizes it wasn't true while again letting her drumstick slip out of her hand.
At School she explains it to the rest of the girls with Maho laughing. Riko questions why she used her sticks in the bath and Yukari explains when her hands sweat it causes the drumsticks to slip out of her hands, so it could practice to avoid that. Maho and Kaede both mention they have progressed slightly and then challenging each other to see who will get better first. Riko then got nostalgic with her feeling sad it will probably be the only time they will be relying on her due to them progressing fast.
