Shuffle Volume 2, Chapter 2 is a chapter of the second Volume of the K-ON! Shuffle Manga by Kakifly.
Summary[]
Yukari and Kaede are walking to school on a cold morning before Maho excitedly greets them from behind. Maho is in a very happy mood despite the cold weather with Yukari wondering what has happened to her.
In class, Maho comes up to Yukari and asks to help her with studying. She accepts but mentions how she doesn't usually ask. Maho then happily thanks her saying she's such a good teacher, creeping out Yukari out. At lunch Yukari spills her udon on her uniform again with Maho saying she's hopeless. Then immediately mentions how udon is slippery and helps clean her up, while Yukari states this isn't the Maho she knows. Kaede mentions to Maho about her good mood, with Maho revealing it's because they really "nailed" the performance from their battle of the bands. Yukari questions her use of nailed. Maho mentions about how her first performance is her first step as a guitarist making her happy, while Yukari rebuttals that she was very nervous before hand. Maho then mentions she feels like someone has got their eye on her lately and wonders if she has any fans, while again Yukari rebuttals saying there was nobody there.
On their way to the society Maho is even more fired up and wants them to practice hard. As they enter, Shinano notices her being fired up and Maho mentions she can't wait for their next performance. Riko then mentions she recorded it and suggests they watch it, which almost silences Maho. Riko mentions that watching yourself objectively is very important, which convinces Maho that she wants to watch it. As they're watching it on Riko's phone they go silent and Maho speaks out that they totally suck with Shinano laughing. Maho mentions how she thought they played better than that and Riko commenting watching yourself objectively sometimes makes it sound good and sometimes doesn't. Kaede says that it seems to feel special because it's their first concert. However, Maho quickly snatches the phone out of her hands and says she is going to throw it away for being their dark history. Yukari tells her to calm down, while Riko quietly mentions about it being her phone.
On their way back home, Maho apologies for loosing her cool, with Yukari mentioning her mood swings being scary. Kaede cheers Maho up by saying they'll keep working hard on the basics while someone is moving towards them. Maho then mentions how it does feel like someone is watching her again. Yukari questions that she is still going on about it and how there's no way someone is doing that, before they both nothing and get scared by the girl who is now in between them. The girl questions who they are and asks if they was with Shinano at the society. Maho asks if she is Shinano's friend, but the girl slowly repeats Maho's question confusing them.
The girls reveals herself to be Kano and that she was in a band with Shinano and Riko, but she assumes Shinano got tired of her sucking and left for abroad without telling her. She is aware Shinano returned recently, but didn't have the confidence to talk to her again. Kaede gets excited thinking it was a band break up due to creative differences, while Yukari is worries why she's excited about that. Kano gets up close to Yukari and says she wants their help so she can make up with Shinano. Yukari and Maho wonder if Shinano actually abandoned her with them both saying she is a nut. They agree to help anyway.
The next day everyone is at the society. Kano and Shinano see each other and both ask if they would be their friend again. They're both confused by this with Kano asking didn't she grow to hate her. Shinano denies that and said she thought Kano hated her. Kano mentions that Shinano didn't tell her she went abroad, but Shinano explains she didn't tell Kano because she stopped coming to the society. Kano then explains that she said she was going to practice hard to play that phrase. Shinano realizes that was the reason why, Yukari and Maho question how they could miss each other so completely.
Shinano asks if that meant she would play in a band with her and Riko again, with Kano agreeing and that she never meant to leave to begin with. Shinano happily thanks her, while Riko says that she should have just come to her. Kano apologies but mentions she wouldn't come to the Society unless she could properly play the piece. Riko told her that it had been a year, with Kano revealing she got it right 3 days ago.
In the background Kaede is glad they made up, while Maho mentions how they seem very close. Yukari and Kaede both happily mention they're even closer than them with Maho rejecting the idea of it being a competition. Yukari mentions how Maho is getting embarrassed and how she won't help her study if she is. Maho questions if she ever asked her for help studying, pretending she never had. Yukari rebuttals at her, while Kano see it and mentions that they're lively. Riko says that they're amazing, while Shinano mentions that her, Kano and Riko need to work hard in their last year. Kano is worried that she is going to be kicked out of the club for real this time, but Shinano hastily replies they're graduating next year. Kano questions from the band and again Shinano replies from high school.
