Shuffle Volume 2, Chapter 6 is a chapter of the second Volume of the K-ON! Shuffle Manga by Kakifly.
Summary[]
While at the society, Yukari is trying to play her drums, but doesn't produce a good sound. Shinano has a look at her drums sticks and notices they're quite used up. She suggests replacing them, but Yukari hesitantly disagrees saying they're her babies, which causes Maho to question why she bangs her babies against the drums. Shinano shows Yukari what she is talking about with the tip chipped and the shoulder shaved. Yukari is amazed with this new knowledge, while Maho jokes about her babies having a bad case of sloping shoulders. She then gets teary saying it's time to say goodbye to Don-Don and Ban-Ban with Maho question the naming choice for her babies like they're pandas. Yukari begins to ask Shinano how to choose a good drumstick before wondering if Riko is absent today. Shinano gets irritated with her noticing Yukari asked the wrong person. Yukari them agrees to ask her for Shinano to tell her "You go by feeling!!" and Yukari deciding just to ask at the music store.
Yukari arrives alone at the music store with Kaede and Maho busy. She stares at the Music Store Guy from behind him having trouble trying to start the conversation, which causes him to feel some pressure on him. Yukari looks to her right noticing a small black hair twin tail girl. Yukari thinks she is an elementary student and is amazed a young girl plays music too. Yukari asks the girl what she is looking for before realizing she's done her habit of talking to little kids for no reason. The girl answers that she was looking for an effects pedal and explains she's trying to find a distortion effects pedal but is struggling with all the choices. Yukari recognizes the word effects pedal, but then the girl explains further how there are some multi-effects pedals that are good quality as well as cheap and how she wants to build a pedal board. Yukari is lost and tries to keep up with the conversation about how the modern age is all about multi and multi-tasking. The girl realizes she is a beginner and moves onto asking if Yukari is looking for drumsticks. Yukari confirms she is a beginner and isn't sure what to choose. The girl suggests some hickory wood ones with their ball tips being easy to use and immediately Yukari bows down to her mentioning how she failed to recognize the girl's greatness
The girl learns that Yukari has started playing about 3 months ago with Yukari mentioning she's embarrassed to say it. However, the girl encourages her by explaining this is the period where she learns a lot of things she doesn't know like drumsticks being made out of different kinds of wood. Yukari praises the girl for knowing so much and asks if she is in a band. The girl explains that are parents are in a jazz band, so she is able to play a bit and wants to form a band. Yukari thinks to herself how modest she is being. The girl then says how she heard the recent Sakuragaoka High School Festival and thought it was really cool. Yukari excitedly adds that she heard them as well and they both bond over them thing they were cool. The girl mentions how to took an entrance exam to Sakuragaoka High this year and wants to join their light music club. After Yukari wishes her luck to pass, she notices it's a high school exam and after realizing the girl is actually only a year younger than her she nervously says she doesn't know how to beg for her forgiveness
After Yukari buys the drumsticks, she mentions how her sister goes to Sakuragaoka High. Yukari then wishes the girl to have a wonder high school life and the girl replies hoping there are nice seniors like her there. 2 of the text boxes mention that if the girl found nice seniors is yet another story. The next day at the society, Yukari tells the girls about what happened. Maho asks what the girls name is and Kaede mentions they may have a connection to the Sakuragaoka Light Music Club. Yukari begins to sweat profusely after realizing she never asked for the girls name.
