Shuffle Volume 2, Chapter 8 is a chapter of the second Volume of the K-ON! Shuffle Manga by Kakifly.
Summary[]
April has arrived with the entrance ceremony occurring. Risa and Ranka are walking into Hikarigaoka High, while Risa is excited to now be in High school. She asks Ranka if she looks like a high school student with Ranka replying a single nope. Risa continues about the uniform being cute and how she couldn't wait to put it on. Ranka comments how she is was already wearing it casually along with a cardigan.
At the Society, the girls are nearly finished carrying all the equipment with Riko stating there only being an hour until the concert. Maho sighs as they didn't get fully prepared for it with Yukari asking how the special training with Shinano went. She reveals it wasn't special and got her hopes up as Shinano just kept telling her to listen to the tone and practice the progression of the chords. Yukari is still amazed she did it out of the concern for Yukari and Kaede.
Yukari and Maho both get sad feeling like neither of them have made progress. Kaede tries to cheer them up by mentioning how it's been a long time since they last performed and she's really excited about that, which works on Maho by instantly changing her mood with Yukari wishing she could be relaxed like her. Riko tells them it's time to go to the gym, but Yukari and Maho try to back out with Maho telling them if they want new members the seniors should do the concert. Kano tries to help their nerves by telling them to write person (人) 3 times on their hand and pretend to eat it. Kano tries to do that but is just as nervous as they are.
Maho states she's going to drop by the Basketball club with Yukari forgetting she was in that club and Maho replying she's a Basketball club member first. During the presentation Maho is giving, Karin asks her to pass the ball. Maho does so only for Karin to get hit in the face with the ball, crouch down in pain for a few moments then with a teary look ask the students to consider joining the Basketball club. This ends up helping Maho to feel relaxed.
The Light Music Appreciation Society is up next. Yukari starts to congratulate the students, before getting nervous after looking at the huge crowd of students looking at them. Yukari nervously counts them down with Maho feeling like she is blanking out, but is able to play. She notices Yukari has gotten better at drumming and is able to easily play when following Kaede. She is also able to the student faces, which includes Risa and Ranka then thinking how she can see the music all around her. Once finished Yukari happy tells Maho how she was amazingly amazing with Maho wonder what that is suppose to mean. They both agree with Kaede that it was fun.
Back at the Society, Riko and Kano compliment their playing. Maho tells Shinano that she thinks she understands what she meant by practising to play a guitar is like weight training or basket ball, that you keeping practicing until your body memories it and how practicing simple things is hard to tell if you're progressing and you start worrying. Shinano adds that if you work hard you'll always get rewarded. Risa and Ranka then walk in asking if this is the Light Music Appreciation Society. They ask for trail memberships with Yukari nervously greeting them like it's a restaurant. Risa introduces herself and says she wants to be a vocalist. Ranka also introduces herself, but says she doesn't know much about bands and came along because of Risa. Yukari and Shinano both notice how peculiar the 2 new students are.
